MacTech Magazine is sponsoring a special forum for developers to interact directly with the QuickTime Engineering Team at the upcoming QuickTime Live! 2001 conference. The show is slated for Oct. 8-11, at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, Beverly Hills, CA.
The QuickTime Live! Conference will feature keynotes, full-day workshops, breakout sessions and a product showcase featuring the latest development tools based on QuickTime technology. QuickTime 5 internals, Mac OS X deployment, QuickTime Streaming Server, Downloadable Components, VR, Java, Streaming, Interactivity and more will be presented. Apple Vice President Phil Schiller will deliver the keynote address.
Courses and events include “Introduction to QuickTime Programming,” “QuickTime Client Technologies,” “QuickTime Server Technologies,” “QuickTime VR Developer Roundtable,” “Developing QuickTime Components,” “QuickTime Interactivity Developer Roundtable,” “Streaming Roundtable Discussion,” “Hands-On Developer Assistance with the QuickTime Engineering Team,” and more. Attendees will learn about compression techniques from the folks who prepare Apple’s QuickTime Movie Trailers page, get workflow tips, learn how to prepare media skins to wrap your QuickTime content in unique interfaces, and more.
“We recommend that you register as early as possible to assure your place at this event,” Neil Ticktin, publisher of MacTech Magazine and CEO, Xplain Corp. said. “The hotel sold out last year. It is your best opportunity to interact with Tim Shaaf and his team and to get the most direct answer and feedback on your QuickTime projects.”
Not only is MacTech a key sponsor, but DevDepot will be on hand with the Official QuickTime Live! Store, selling products relevant to QuickTime users and developers.
MacCentral will once again be sponsoring QuickTime Live! and the management of this year’s event are offering MacCentral readers a 10 percent discount on any conference package when they register. In addition, anyone registering with the code QTL-MACC09 will be entered in a draw to win either a copy of LiveStage Professional or a free pass to the conference. This offer is open only to the first 2000 attendees to register with this code.
