Media 100, a provider of digital media products, has integrated the effects design and acceleration capabilities of ICE and Final Effects Complete across its entire family of digital media systems for both Macintosh and Windows 2000 platforms.
For the first time, users of Media 100 i version 7.5, the company’s Mac-based digital media content creation solution, can “leverage very powerful, high quality effects design and effects acceleration solutions directly from within the application’s editing timeline — further simplifying the users’ workflow and creative process,” company spokesperson Karen Raz told MacCentral.
Media 100 i is a combination of hardware and software that turns a Power Mac G4 into a streaming media production system. Available in a variety of configurations, the Media 100 i system is offered specifically to provide interactive streaming content for Web site production. Media 100 i is also now shipping with Boris FX 6.0, adding enhanced features for compositing and effects creation, as well as introducing support for Media 100 ICE and Final Effects Complete.
In addition to “tremendous gains” in its image quality, Media 100 has also “significantly enhanced” the effects design capabilities of its family of digital media systems, Charlie Mascari, senior product manager for Media 100, said. With the support for Boris FX 6.0, Media 100 customers now have access to new lighting filters and natural filters including snow, fire and rain, he added.
Boris FX also includes new apply modes for transparency control and Smart View for dynamically updated previews of animated parameters. Additionally, Boris has added Audio Import and Playback for reference and audio synchronization during effect animation design. See our June 6 report for details.
