Europe has become a hotbed of MUG (Macintosh User Group) activity, according to Chuck Joiner, editor-in-chief of The MUG Center, a resource for user groups.
As MacCentral reported last week, MacEurope.net, now under construction, is being created by InterMac of France and Gr.U.M.F. la Pomme sans Pépins of Belgium. The MUGS in Spain are organizing an association for their organizations. The first major project for CAMPUSMAC will be a meeting of Spanish Mac users, scheduled for August 2002.
Conferences, workgroups and other activities with a central focus on digital video are planned. Those involved in the creation of the organization include members of GUM Malaga and Macuarium, Joiner said.
MUGs are good places for making new friends, finding Mac-loving buddies, boning up your technical expertise, finding solutions to technical problems, and sometimes finding a good deal on used hardware.
