Monaco Systems, Inc. has announced that Bestcolor USA Inc. will bundle its MonacoPROOF Mac ICC profiling software with Best Colorproof RIP bundles. Monaco explained that this will bring its digital proofing technology to inkjet printers. Users will be able to get the bundles through Best’s own network of certified dealers.
MonacoPROOF can generate custom ICC profiles in conjunction with the RIP software. This enables users to produce a color-accurate proofing system, according to Monaco — thus saving time, money and resources for companies that need accurate digital proofing.
Before now, users who wanted to make custom profiles had to purchase specialized software and hardware separate from the RIP, according to Bestcolor USA Inc. president Mark Geeves. “We’ve combined Monaco’s MonacoPROOF printer profiling software with our Best Colorproof RIP software and an X-Rite DTP41UV to offer a complete proofing solution to our customers,” said Geeves.
MonacoPROOF is a spectrophotometer-based profiling product. It features a Wizard-like interface, and it can be used to profile LCD and CRT-based monitors, scanners, digital cameras, printers, proofers, presses, film recorders, and color copiers. It’ll work with standard measurement devices from X-Rite, Gretag and SpectroStar, as well. It works with both Mac OS and Windows.
