The Apple Developer Connection (ADC) is offering the second of three new articles on the Web site. The article is written by well-known Mac expert Danny Goodman and is called, Working with JavaScript — Event Models.
In this piece, Goodman dives into the complex subject of JavaScript event binding, covering the five different techniques that browsers have historically used. The article concludes with suggestions on simultaneously handling the three common event models of today’s browsers.
This first article put Internet Explorer 5 for Macintosh up against IE 5 for Windows, and revealed the JavaScript secrets that separate the two. For developers interested in cross-platform browser quirks, Goodman covered, in great detail, DOM implementations, event types, mouse position handling, and more, according to ADC.
The ADC is Apple’s source for technical and business resources and information for anyone developing for Apple’s software and hardware platforms. It includes programs, products, services and up-to-date technical documentation for existing and emerging Apple technologies.
