Musicmatch has announced the release of Musicmatch Jukebox Plus for Mac, version 2.5. The software provides users with the ability to play, record and organize digital music on their Macs.
The new version now supports the ability to play streamed and downloaded Windows Media Audio (WMA) formatted files. It also supports ripping speeds of up to 8x, making it take less time for users to transfer music from their own CD collection to their hard drive. The new version of the audio software also features three brand new skins, to enable users to customize the look and feel of their software. A multi-band equalizer also enables users to adjust sound levels.
In addition to its support for WMA format, Musicmatch Jukebox Plus also supports MP3 audio files, of course. AIFF is supported. Users can also listen to regular audio CDs using the software. Musicmatch Jukebox Plus also supports the ability to transfer files to MP3 and WMA files to digital audio players, including the RCA/Thomson Lyra, Innogear MiniJam and Iomega HipZip.
MusicMatch Jukebox Plus also features an integrated guide with music recommendations, artist and album info and music search capabilities. Users can download music from major labels and independent artists, learn about artists similar to their favorites, examine discographies and band photos, or learn more about other musicians who are influenced by the referenced artist. The guide also provides listener charts, biographies, album reviews, artist interviews and promotions.
Musicmatch Jukebox Plus for Mac costs US$19.99 and is available for download now. The software requires a G3 or better; Mac OS 8.6 or higher (including Mac OS X); and StuffIt Expander. Speakers or headphones are also recommended.
