Snap Appliances today announced a “Back to School” special that will net educational institutions a 10 percent discount on products purchased from the online Snap Store.
Snap Servers are Network Attached Servers (NAS). They’re self-contained storage systems with their own network interfaces that operate almost totally autonomously — they feature virtually plug-and-play operation. It’s that ease of use that Snap Appliances director Jim Simon suggests will be so appealing to educational IT managers.
“While storage requirements for educational institutions are at an all time high, school IT budgets continue to shrink. Snap Appliances’ ‘Back to School Special’ is being launched to help school IT managers find cost-effective solutions to meet their growing storage demands,” said Simon.
Snap Servers can be configured by the administrator using a Web browser and feature cross-platform compatibility with various computer hardware and operating systems, from Mac OS to Novell to Windows to UNIX/Linux. Models range in price from US$499 to $14,999 depending on storage capacity and features.
The Back to School Special runs now through the end of October. K-12, colleges and universities are all eligible for an e-coupon for 10 percent savings across the entire Snap Server product line, according to the company. Customers interested in taking advantage of the deal should get in touch with Snap Appliances’ inside sales department by calling 888.343.SNAP or by e-mailing snapsales@snapserver.com.
