Wireless trackball coming to Mac OS X

Kensington Technology Group has announced Turbo Mouse Pro Wireless Trackball, one of the first wireless accessory devices compatible with the new Mac OS X operating system. The device’s design includes:

Six Direct Launch buttons that can be pre-set to instantly access favorite Web sites, applications or crucial documents;

Radio frequency (RF) connection, similar to that used by cordless phones, allows you to work freely anywhere within six feet of your computer;

Four programmable buttons that work with Kensington’s MouseWorks software (which comes bundled with it) to create shortcuts for frequently used functions;

An integrated scroll wheel;

Stainless steel bearings that provide precise tracking and maximum durability.

The features of the Turbo Mouse Pro Wireless let users design graphics, build Web pages and surf the Internet without being restricted by the clutter of cords and wires, increasing worker flexibility and productivity, according to Randy Hart, Kensington vice president Product Management for Ergonomics and Input.

The new Turbo Mouse Pro Wireless builds on the success of the Turbo Mouse trackball line of Mac input devices, he added. It will be available for purchase before the end of the month at an estimated retail price of US$119.99.
