This week at the Seybold San Francisco conference, Artesia Technologies is unveiling what it says is a best-in-class native Mac enterprise client as part of its digital asset management (DAM) solutions.
Developed to ease the file-intensive process of graphics production, the new Mac creative client offers “usability focused functionality” that includes one-click checkout, drag and drop import and export of assets, AppleScriptability, and version control. Its QuarkXPress integration includes Quark drag and drop, XPress thumbnail images, and links between assets and the layouts in which they appear.
It also boasts Adobe XMP integration that includes support for managing XMP setting. According to Bowen, this assures the reusability of assets and the preservation of rights across application domains.
The Mac client offers a customizable Project Framework, that’s designed to enable the creation of electronic job jackets for users to gather and share collections of assets. Its Window Wallet gathers a user’s active projects and checked-out files into a floating window that serves as a palette for navigating files and projects.
“The release of this Mac-based creative desktop leapfrogs other attempts to provide enterprise DAM functionality to creative contributors,” said Scott Bowen, president and COO of Artesia Technologies, in announcing the product.
Final pricing and availability for the native Mac client will be announced in the fourth quarter. But you can drop by the Artesia Web site for more info.
