If you’re looking for a neat puzzle game for your Mac OS X-equipped system, you might be interested in illumineX’s new offering, BableBloX. The company bills the games as “several games in one.”
BabelBlox lets players try the X Free game, but with a license, you get to play six other games as well. IllumineX said that it’s an original game concept, but some of the games are puzzle-style, and others are arcade-style — so if you’re a fan of titles like Tetris, Blox or Columns, you might want to give BabelBloX a try.
The registration-only games include “Classic” BabelBloX, Big Ben, Bubbles, Shockwave, Gravity Pong, and Gravity Delay Pong. Each game incorporates unique elements, gameplay styles and rules.
Created using Mac OS X’s Cocoa application development environment, the game incorporates what IllumineX calls a “Chrome” theme that the company developed for use with its OS X games. It reflects the design intent of the Aqua interface, said the developer. The game also uses OpenGL and Quartz to display animation and transparency.
BabelBloX runs on Mac OS X only, and can be registered for US$19.95.
