Mac processor upgrade maker PowerLogix has announced a price reduction on some of their upgrades for various PowerBook and Power Mac models.
The company said that its PowerLogix BlueChip G3 500/250/1MB upgrade is now US$100 less, at $499. This particular upgrade is suitable for the Wall Street series of PowerBook G3’s. PowerLogix claims that the BlueChip upgrade helps users of these older PowerBooks to have enough horsepower to edit video, do digital audio work and graphics editing.
The PowerForce G4 450/226/1MB has also seen a price reduction — $80, to $369. This processor upgrade has been developed for Power Mac 7300 through 9600 models, as well as compatible clones. The PowerForce G3 ZIF 500/250/1MB and the PowerForce G4 ZIF 450/225/1MB upgrades — developed for beige and blue and white Power Mac G3s — have both been replaced with the PowerForce G4 ZIF 500/200/1MB, which lists for $399.
The company also added a new low-end PowerForce G3 upgrade — the G3 350/117/512K, which is available for $149. The PowerForce G3 400/200/1MB has been dropped $20 to $229 and the PowerForce G3 500/250/1MB is $80 less at $269.
