Extensis today announced Preflight Online Digital Ad Delivery Solution. It’s a new workflow tool for publishers and printers that’s built around Preflight Online — Extensis’ preflight service.
The new workflow tool enables magazines and newspaper publishers to set up a Web-based gateway suitable for receiving digital ads. The gateway is coupled with acceptance criteria that verify the publishers own ad spec before the ad is submitted. From there, the publisher can either stop the submission of ads that don’t meet the proper specification or allow them through, while warning the submitting agency of the problems found.
Extensis senior product manager Joseph Schorr explained that Preflight Online Digital Ad Delivery Solution makes it easier for any company receiving digital ads to effectively control quality through their Web site. “We have taken processes that previously required hours of scripting and programming and turned them into functions that can be customized in just minutes,” said Schorr.
Features in Preflight Online Digital Ad Delivery Solution include:
Full support for PDF, EPS and QuarkXpress files;
Conditional file acceptance, where service providers and publishers can selectively permit or prohibit the acceptance of an ad based on its specification;
Support for ad size specifications;
Built-in authentication, eliminating the need for an independent authentication server.
The new Preflight Online Digital Ad Delivery Solution features are available immediately to subscribers of Extensis’ standard Preflight Online service.
The company is exhibiting at this week’s Seybold Conference & Expo, which runs through tomorrow at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, CA. Look for them in booth 845.
