Macworld UK reports that PDA maker Palm plans to complete its Palm Desktop application for Mac OS X by the end of the year.
Palm senior director of product marketing John Cook said that the new software “takes full advantage” of new Mac OS X technology, such as the ability to get Palm Desktop data fast from within the Dock itself. The software has also been redesigned to help match OS X’s interface and offers improved compatibility for better synchronization with Palm handhelds.
Palm Desktop offers PDA users with personal information management capabilities, enabling them to look up the same contact info, appointment scheduling features, note-taking abilities and to do list management as the Palm PDA itself — synchronized to the same data on the PDA. It also enables users to install third-party software on their Palms.
