Panic has released a new version of their popular shareware digital music player, Audion. The new version, 2.6, is available as separate downloads for Mac OS X and earlier versions of the Mac operating system.
Audion lets you play and optionally encode digital audio music files. The software sports a long list of features, such as real-time DJ style crossfading, EQ settings, ranking by favorites, support for WAV, AIFF, Ogg Vorbis and other formats — way too many features to list here.
Changes in Audion 2.6 include the following:
Audion can be downloaded for a free 15-day demo. After that, you need to pay a registration fee to remove a timed use restriction. Registration starts at US$19.95 for the player only or $32.95 for the player and encoder.
System requirements call for Mac OS 8.1 or higher; PowerPC 604 processor or better (G3 or higher recommended).
