There’s a new beta version (2.2b11) of FoldersSynchronizer out for Mac OS X. FoldersSynchronizer is a tool for synching and backing up files and folders.
With FoldersSynchronizer, you can either maintain mirror copies of directories on multiple hard drives, or you can use the software to backup and delete content from one volume to another. The software contains a wide variety of customization features to tailor your backup or archive and it is AppleScriptable.
FoldersSynchronizer can now show the “items to be copied” Preview List. However, the “Preview List” option doesn’t work together with the “Multiple” Sync/Backup nor with the Sync/Backup started by Timers.
The “Scanning Folders” task is purportedly much faster than the previous version. The “Copying Items” task also works faster than the previous version and there are other enhancements and bug fixes.
The beta requires Mac OS 8.5 or higher (with the CarbonLib extensions installed) or Mac OS X 10.0.0 or higher. You can download it from the Softobe Web site, a place where you also can obtain non-beta versions for both Mac OS X and the traditional Mac operating system.
FoldersSynchronizer is distributed as shareware. The software costs US$30 to register.
