OPTX International announced today that it will support Mac OS X with its ScreenWatch software. ScreenWatch is a screen capture and recording system designed to work in tandem with RealNetworks’ RealPlayer software.
OPTX president of sales Joe Bacchus said that by supporting Mac and Windows, they’re the only complete solution for university educators interested in recording and streaming live and archived classroom instruction.
“With the enormous growth of distance education over the past few years, we have wanted to expand our market into the Macintosh realm,” said Bacchus.
ScreenWatch provides screen capture functionality on Windows, Linux, Sun and Mac systems — the company has already introduced a version of the software that works on Mac OS 9. ScreenWatch works with RealServer on Linux, Solaris and HP-UX, as well as Windows 2000 and NT systems (RealServer is not yet available for Mac OS X).
