Bare Bones Software has released BBEdit Lite 6.1.2, the free text editor for the Mac OS. The new version is a compatibility update to address specific issues with previous versions of BBEdit Lite when running under Mac OS X 10.1.
BBEdit Lite 6.1.2 corrects problems encountered with using the Clipboard, and in adding items to the “Open Recent” menu when running under the latest version of the next generation operating system. You can download BBEdit Lite 6.1.2 now from Bare Bones Software’s Web site. Registered users of BBEdit Lite are eligible for a cross-upgrade to BBEdit 6.1, the HTML and text editor, at a discount from the full retail price.
BBEdit Lite is built around the same core text processing engine as its big brother, but utilizes a scaled-down feature set suitable to general use. It still contains a powerful mix of features suitable for reformatting text, searching, and other tasks. It’s compatible with System 7.5.5 and up.
