Pitney Bowes Office Systems has rolled out the DL370, a 35 page-per-minute multi-function copier, printer, fax and scanner that’s Mac compatible. The company said it supports “all” Mac operating systems, implying Mac OS X compatibility.
Though pricing starts at US$7,295, the device sports a 20 percent price reduction from the previous digital model it replaces, according to Nathaniel Gifford, vice president, Product Development and Marketing.
The DL370’s “Scan to E-mail” feature lets you e-mail scanned documents as attached files. The documents are converted into digital files that can be sent electronically to multiple e-mail addresses.
You can also send a fax as an e-mail message with one touch, transmitting it to the receiver’s e-mailbox through their corporate network. This gives the receiver the ability to view the document before deciding whether or not to print it.
The “Scan to File feature” allows you to transmit a scanned document to a specified folder. You can convert documents to PDF or TIFF formats for integration into most document management software packages.
The DL370 offers plug-and-play network installation, Gifford said. The unit supports industry standards PCL6, PostScript3, ASCII, TIFF, PDF and JPEG.
There are a variety of options for the DL370. You have a choice of print controllers, a wide range of finishing options, and dual line 33.6 Kbps fax.
