Mac OS X 10.1 was released Saturday, but
has already optimized their Internet security and problem solving solutions for the update, according to company spokesperson Cecilia Daclan.
for Macintosh provides native virus protection on OS X 10.1 through manual scans and repairs. Users can also update virus definitions via LiveUpdate.
Norton Personal Firewall
for Macintosh features full native firewall protection, ensuring Mac OS X 10.1 users that their systems will be safe from hackers, Daclan told MacCentral.
Norton Internet Security
for Macintosh offers Mac users protection against Internet threats with Norton AntiVirus and Norton Personal Firewall. Norton Internet Security also includes Aladdin iClean, which runs native on Mac OS X 10.1, to sweep away Web surfing tracks as well as tidy up the desktop.
Norton Utilities for Macintosh
provides Mac users with tools for maintaining and optimizing their systems. Mac OS X 10.1 users can boot from the Norton Utilities CD-ROM, or run the program from a Mac OS 9 partition, to scan and repair disk errors with Norton Disk Doctor or to defragment and optimize with Norton Speed Disk. Users can also erase files with Wipe Info and recover files and rebuild directories with UnErase and Volume Recover.
for Macintosh is a comprehensive and integrated suite of Mac utilities that includes Norton AntiVirus and Norton Utilities, as well as Aladdin Spring Cleaning, which runs native on Mac OS X 10.1 to free up space on users’ hard drives by uninstalling old programs and files. Norton SystemWorks also features Dantz Retrospect Express, which OS X 10.1 users can run from the bootable CD-ROM to write to drives supported by Apple’s universal Firewire and USB drivers.
