Version 2.5.2 of db Reports, the report writing application, is now available from adDataTools. With db Reports, you can extract, format and print data from one of various data sources.
Reports can be built using the built-in assistant or the drawing environment. db Reports also supports data grouping and fully recursive expressions. String, Math and Logical (including IF) expressions are supported by dbReports, which is made with the REALbasic development environment from Real Software.
Immediately available for download, version 2.5.2 is a maintenance release that fixes several bugs. Auto-sized expressions now work properly. “Current date” and “current page” will no longer stop the evaluation of an expression. And REALbasic classes have been completely updated. There is one caveat: because version 1.8.9 of Valentina automatically alters the database format without warning, this release of db Reports still uses Valentina version 1.8.8r5.
“In a few days I will re-release db Reports using the newer version 1.8.9r7. I am sorry for any inconvenience,” Aaron Bratcher of abDataTools said. “Current users of the REALbasic classes provided with db Reports should completely remove them from their existing projects and re-load them with the newer ones.”
