Jon McCarron, manager of Mac.Tucows.com, a Mac shareware Web site, is the featured guest on tonight’s Mac Show, the Internet radio show about all things Mac. McCarron will be serving up the monthly “Mac Show Shareware Review,” looking into the software vaults at Tucows.
The special guest tonight is Chuck Joiner, Mac User Group (MUG) correspondent, Chuck Joiner. He’ll talk with Trish Huffman, MUG Producer for World Without Borders, about why her organization sees MUGs as an essential part of their audience. MUG members will also be eligible to win prizes from Casady & Greene and Aladdin.
In case you’re not familiar with them, MUGs are places for making new friends, finding Mac-loving buddies, boning up your technical expertise, finding solutions to technical problems, and sometimes finding a good deal on used hardware. For more info on MUGs, and to find the location of the one nearest you, go to Apple’s User Group Web page.
In the “Tech Tips” segment, sponsored by Micromat’s Tech Tool Pro 3, correspondent John Welch will talk to Geoff Perlman, president and CEO of REAL Software, about REALBasic, the object-oriented, visual programming environment.
The Mac Show will launch a new segment tonight: “Your Digital Life.” Host/producer Shawn King will talk about the technology, products, software and hardware that we’ll be using in the future and how they’ll will affect you. In the first segment, King will talk to Joe Meehan of PDNOnline.com about digital cameras and what you should look for when buying one.
There’ll be lots of prizes to give away, the conclusion of the OneShare.com contest, and the chance to win a framed Apple stock certificate. You can catch The Mac Show every Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. (Pacific). You can also join the show’s gang in the chat rooms on the World Without Borders site or on the dal.net servers on IRC in the #macshowlive Channel.
