Apple is looking beyond this coming weekend’s opening of the Palo Alto Apple store and have announced the date for the next two stores. October 13 will see two store openings — one in Albany, NY and the second in Germantown, TN, an Apple representative confirmed for MacCentral.
The Albany store will be located in the Crossgates Mall at 1 Crossgates Mall Road. The Germantown store will be at The Shops of Saddle Creek, located at 7615 W Farmington Blvd.
Just one week ago, The Germantown Design Review Commission rejected the latest proposal from Apple for lighting the company’s corporate logo at the Saddle Creek store location.
Apple and the Design Review Commission have been discussing the towns sign laws for a couple of months. Germantown’s sign ordinance doesn’t allow food items — like Apple’s corporate logo — on signs. What’s more, Apple wants to illuminate the logo and Germantown’s sign ordinance doesn’t allow internal illumination either.
With the store opening being rescheduled, it appears the two sides have reached an agreement. Apple previously postponed the Germantown store opening, which was originally scheduled for September 29.
