The VOODOO Server 1.4 for Mac OS X 10.1 control tool is now available from Uni Software Plus.
Voodoo Server is a control system for software developers using Metrowerks CodeWarrior. It and the included CodeWarrior plug-in provide version control without adding the administrative overhead that often accompanies version control, according to Christoph Reichenberger, Voodoo product manager.
Voodoo Server now features a modern client/server architecture that benefits from the stability and performance of Mac OS X, he said. The CodeWarrior plug-in offers a user-friendly version control solution that lets you keep track of all your files without having to deal with additional complexity and bureaucracy, all from inside the CodeWarrior IDE in an easy-to-use Mac-like style, Reichenberger added.
“We are impressed with the improvements Apple has released with Mac OS X 10.1, in particular with the comeback of remote native AppleEvents,” he said in announcing the update. “The new version of Voodoo Server makes use of the 10.1 improvements and offers native connectivity on Mac OS X while maintaining full compatibility with Mac OS 9, even in mixed environments.”
Reichenberger said that Voodoo Server is the only version control tool designed specifically for the Mac. For more info or to download the tool, go to the product Web site. Uni Software is making Voodoo Server available to first time purchasers for US$79; the regular list price is $229. Additional client licenses are $119.
