(For those new to the column, Forward Migration is our term for companies moving from Wintel machines to Macs — or at least adding or increasing the number of Macs they use. A forward migration kit is an overview of Mac OS products for a particular occupation, such as dentistry, accounting, etc.)
This week we’re looking at debt elimination software for the Mac.
from Real Mac Solutions, now up to version 2.0, is a set of financial tools to help you with many fixed and adjustable rate loan calculations. In its Custom Schedule window, you can create custom schedules for variable interest rates and extra payments in any month. You can enter repeating extra payments with a Repeat Entry option. LoanPro also compares up to three loan scenarios for total costs, calculates your maximum borrowing power and estimates the interest saved by early payoff.
A demo version is available for download. However, until you register the application you won’t be able to print any schedules or show loans greater that five years. All other features will work. The cost for registration is US$25. Mac LoanPro is made for the traditional Mac operating system and hasn’t been Carbonized for Mac OS X.
