Iomega has released a new version (3.1) of QuikSync, its backup/synchronization software for Zip and Jaz drives. The new version is Carbonized, so it’ll run natively on Mac OS X.
The update (a 11.4 MB file) also supports Iomega’s new Peerless drives and adds support to all mounted drives including network drives (does not include CDRW or DVD-RW). QuikSync 3.1 is designed to protect you from data loss caused by disasters such as viruses, power outages, computer crashes and accidental deletion. Files saved to specified folders on a local hard drive or mapped network drive are automatically copied to a separate drive designated as the “sync location.”
You can grab an updater at the Iomega update site. QuikSync 3.1 runs on Mac OS 8.x and higher (with the CarbonLib extensions installed), including Mac OS X.
