Elite Computers & Software has announced plans to open another San Francisco Bay Area Mac dealership. The company has announced that it’ll open a store in Berkeley, at the former location of the ComputerWare dealership. The new business will be called “ComputerWare by Elite Computers & Software,” just like its sister locations. The company said the location should open in November.
This past summer Cupertino-based Elite Computers & Software announced that it had acquired ComputerWare, a defunct bay-area Mac reseller that went out of business earlier this year. The company has already re-opened its first ComputerWare store in San Rafael, and has announced plans to re-open the Sunnyvale and Capitola ComputerWare locations under the new banner. The Sunnyvale location is scheduled to open on Friday, October 19th at 10 am, with Capitola to follow by the end of the month.
“ComputerWare was the largest Mac-only Apple Specialist in the country, and with the addition of these locations we will be well on our way to reclaiming that title,” said Thomas Armes, President and CEO of Elite Computers & Software.
Armes said that the company is planning to have Apple reps on hand at the Sunnyvale location’s grand opening, with vendor demos and free prizes as well. The Sunnyvale location will include a “Clearance Center” that will sell a variety of products including used computers, and it will also host the company’s corporate sales and services offices.
