If you’re a biologist or researcher interested in adding new analysis tools to your arsenal, you may be interested in a new offering from Biomax Informatics AG. The company today announced the launch of the Biomax Gene Expression Analysis Suite, which it bills as “an intelligent and innovative software for systematic analysis and visualization of gene expression data from different experiments.”
The software enables researchers to analyze data sets using available gene annotation. Users can find groups of tightly co-expressed genes, evaluate active metabolic pathways and predict interactions among corresponding proteins.
The developers explained that the Biomax Gene Expression Analysis Suite reduces data complexity by displaying detailed info for any selected cluster and providing links to annotations for each gene. The software uses the hierarchical Biomax functional catalog to characterize protein function.
The Biomax Gene Expression Analysis Suite is built using a client/server architecture — the server can run on any UNIX operating system, according to Biomax, and clients access it through any commonly used Web browser, including those running on Macs and Windows PCs.
