AccountEdge 2 from MYOB is slated to ship the week of Oct. 22 and according to the folks at MYOB, it includes the return of the Users Guide.
The guide is now a 200-page printed manual that comes with every upgrade. Plus, there’s an all-new digital Reference Guide, a 1,000-page document available as a printable PDF on the AccountEdge CD.
MYOB AccountEdge tackles such duties as job tracking, sales management, time billing, inventory and payroll. It includes invoice and check registers that make it easy to find open invoices, credits, quotes, payments and other transactions quickly.
AccountEdge 2.0 comes with a streamlined Command Center. The new bank register gives you a bird’s eye view of your immediate account status and also includes a running balance. Plus, it lets you enter and edit transactions right from the register.
Version 2.0 also beefs up the online banking features. Designed for speed and versatility in bank account reconciliation and on-the-fly transaction entry, it allows you to download your statement online from your bank and save it to wherever you normally do on your computer. Then click Get Statement on your Bank Register in MYOB AccountEdge, find your statement, and MYOB AccountEdge will bring it in and automatically match your bank statement transactions against those in MYOB.
If it can’t find a match, you have the option of matching one, adding it as a new transaction, or skipping it altogether. MYOB AccountEdge will also mark the new or matched transaction as cleared on your MYOB AccountEdge bank reconciliation.
When downloading a bank statement, MYOB AccountEdge accepts the four most popular formats: .OFX, .QFX, .QIF, and .OFC. The application now has the ability to add lines, headers and subtotals to invoices. You can bill for time and materials on a single invoice and print packing slips with orders.
AccountEdge now accommodates users who prefer to select their accounts by name rather than number by adding a preference for doing just that. There are also lots of enhancements to the application’s Reports features.
Choosing to select and display accounts by name also allows those of you who are more familiar with the account names to take advantage of MYOB AccountEdge’s Easy Fill to have the account appear by entering just a letter or two.
AccountEdge retails for US$249. Registered users can upgrade to version 2.0 for $99 through Nov. 30. Also, a trial version will be available for download at the MYOB US Web site.
