Quick Rename is now available for Mac OS X as of the new version 2.1. Quick Rename is a batch renaming utility that utilizes renaming schemes to alter the names of files with the set scheme. It works with sound files, project files, HTML files and more.
The 2.1 update offers improved access to the help center. Process information is purportedly updated more accurately and offers transparent compatibility between Mac OS 9 and Mac OS X (through Carbon support).
The utility offers incremental file naming (increasing or decreasing) and supports drag and drop; you can replace a word or character found in a file’s name; add info to a file name, either before or after; filter the files that you want by prefix, date and time created, date and time modified, creator code, type code, step selection; and more.
The cost is US $20 for a single user license. For more info, go to the Quick Rename site.
