is holding its annual Net Gain online accounting conference in Monterey, CA, on Oct. 25-27. The California-based company offers a professional, Web-based and Mac compatible accounting system — the Net Gain, conference is designed to show participants how they take their Intacct e-practice to the next level.
“Apple is one of our key sponsors and will be providing Mac systems for use at the conference for demos, exhibits and an Internet Cafe for conference attendees,” Intacct spokesperson Wendy Bednarz told MacCentral. “In fact, one of our new clients, American Express Tax and Business Services has a large number of Mac-using clients — one of the reasons why Apple is so actively involved in the conference.”
At the two-day event, participants will get in-depth exploration of the benefits and best practices of online professional accounting that only an in-person event can provide, she added. Net Gain attendees will also get sneak peeks at some of the new applications Intacct will be releasing in 2002, and explore some of their partner applications like audit, payroll and tax, and network with colleagues from around the country. Finally, because Net Gain is an accredited conference, attendees will be eligible to receive up to seven hours of CPE credit. For more info go to the
Net Gain Web site.
The Intacct system is an enterprise system made on the Internet for small to medium sized businesses. It’s not a redesigned boxed software product. Though all Intacct software is located on servers, not desktops, the company decided early on to support the Mac, Bednarz told MacCentral.
The Web based software runs on Internet Explorer and Netscape browsers on the traditional Mac operating system and Carbonized versions of the browsers for Mac OS X, he said. Intacct does in-house testing to ensure “100 percent Mac compatibility.”
You can sign up for a 14-day test drive of the Intacct accounting service online. However, since they’re a private label service, you’ll need to call their Customer Support Staff at 877-704-3700 for pricing and other sign-up details.
