Glass Bead Software has updated its Mac LAN chat shareware application, SnapTalk, to version 2.0, which adds a “Quick-Replies” feature for answering colleagues with the click of a mouse.
The update also lets you keep your company’s conversations off the Internet, according to MacTech magazine. The product lets you talk “instantly” with anyone in your office. A SnapTalk pop-up window notifies you of incoming talk requests. The app finds all the other users on your network and puts them in a list for you to choose from.
You can also set SnapMail to speak incoming messages aloud. If you are busy their message can be answered with a “Yes,” “No” or “Thanks.” Or you can snap them off an auto-reply with a single button-click.
The cost is US$25 for a five-user license, $39 for a 10-user license, and $99 for an unlimited user license. SnapTalk can be run on any Mac that has at least 600K of free RAM and is connected to any type of AppleTalk network, including LocalTalk, PhoneNet, EtherTalk, TokenTalk or Apple Remote Access. SnapTalk runs on all Mac OS Systems from 7.5 to OS X. You can download it at the Glass Bead Web site.
