We reported on Oct. 10 that Toon Boom Studio, an award-winning animation application for Mac OS X, wouldn’t save files under the latest version of Mac OS X. This is true, but there’s been some confusion over when Toon Boom Studio 1.1 would be released and when 1.0 would support Mac OS 10.1.
“Our Web site indicates that the release date for TBS 1.1 will be next spring,” Toon Boom Studio spokesperson Lisa Krug told MacCentral. “This information is correct. However, TBS 1.0 does support Mac OS 10.1, and a free Service Pack will be available this week on our Web site to resolve the problem.”
Toon Boom Studio was initially released for Mac OS X in which features such as Saving did not pose a problem, she said. However, given the Mac OS X 10.1 upgrade, Toon Boom Studio has had to be modified with a Service Pack so that it will now be compatible with the operating system. With this modification, TBS will continue as it has in the past, to save files, Krug said.
