The InDesign User Group of New York City, which was originally slated to launch on Sept. 12, will now have its first meeting on Thursday, Nov. 8 at 5:30 p.m. The original opening was, of course, canceled due to the terrorist attacks on the U.S.
The first meeting will be held at 8 West 40th Street, 16th Floor. The registration and welcome will start at 5:30 p.m., and the meeting proper will run from 6-8 p.m. You can register online ahead of time at the group’s registration page.
“It will help enormously with building security if you register,” Sandee Cohen, one of the group’s founders, told MacCentral. “This way your name will be at the lobby front desk and you can breeze right up to the meeting.”
The first meeting is designed to “break the ice” and set the stage for the group’s future. The agenda will consist of electing the officials to organize the user group as well as decide direction for the organization and elect a steering committee. Dates and times for regular meetings will also be discussed. Adobe Evangelist Julieanne Kost will serve up Photoshop 6.0 tips. There’ll also be presentations of InDesign 2.0.
Service providers and developers can contact Cohen to arrange a date for a presentation. By the way, Cohen is the author of books on InDesign, Fireworks 3 and FreeHand, as well as the co-author of “The Non-Designer’s Scan and Print Book.”
