If you’re a writer looking for a Mac-based tool to help hone your craft, you may be interested in a new offering from ScriptPerfection Enterprises Inc. called Power Structure. The tool has been developed for creative fiction writers who want to flesh out their work.
The developer explained that Power Structure does not pretend to be “an electronic muse” like other existing story development software — instead, it provides the writer with nine different views of their story, enabling them to develop the story from different perspectives. Tools have been included to enable the writer to track conflicts, subplots and dramatic threads, “must happen lists” and much more.
Power Structure’s system requirements call for a PowerPC-based Mac running Mac OS 8.6 or better (including Mac OS X); 16MB RAM; 10MB available HD space; and Internet connection is recommended.
The software carries a suggested retail price of US$269 but is available via a special promotion through the end of the year for $199. Academic discounts, site licenses and competitive upgrades are available as well. A demo is also available for download.
