Apple has won four Rave Awards in Wired Magazine’ s third annual Rave Awards. The awards, chosen by Wired readers, celebrate “the people, the products and the Web sites that represent the best in technology.”
Apple won four awards in the following categories: “Most Wired Design” (for the Titanium PowerBook), “Most Wired Extra” (for the 17-inch flat panel Studio Display), “Most Wired Ad Spot” (for the “Rip. Mix. Burn” advertisement) and “Designer of the Year” (for their Apple’s Industrial Design Team).
Other winners include: Ang Lee (“Most Wired Director” and “Cultural Innovator”), Radiohead (“Most Wired Musician”), BMWfilms.com (“Best Excuse for Broadband”), Google (“Best Service Site”), the Sony PlayStation 2, BMW Z8, NYTimes.com, The Sims, Electronic Arts, and John Heilemann, Dave Winer of SOAP protocol, and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
“Despite a volatile economic climate, technology is anything but dead,” Drew Schutte, publisher of Wired, said in announcing the awards. “These winners are the leaders and innovators in the world of technology, which impacts our lives every day.”
