2nR-Musiker, a wireless MP3 server and client from Sensate, will be compatible with the Mac very soon. 2nR-Musiker is an MP3 music application that delivers music off a central personal computer to other computers or wireless devices.
2nR-Musiker lets you download, upload and stream MP3 music to wireless and wired network devices running the Mac OS. It supports existing wired IP networks, and wireless networks that are based on standards such as 802.11b, HomeRF, IrDA or Bluetooth.
“2nR-Musiker turns the popular iMac and iBook into an MP3 server that connects to most laptops, PDAs, and consumer devices in a seamless and transparent manner that consumers find very easy to use,” said Robin Dymond, founder and CEO of Sensate. “The in-demand next generation consumer entertainment application for the home network is Internet audio, and only Sensate delivers a complete network solution that supports Windows PCs, WinCE and now Mac OS.”
2nR-Musiker is a vertical application based on AoIP, Sensate’s wireless network application platform and middleware. AoIP allows wireless 802.11b local area networks to have features found in cellular wide area networks, such as client and services discovery, authentication, profiling, roaming, caching, QoS and other features.
2nR-Musiker wireless MP3 server for Mac OS — with WinCE, Windows, and Mac OS clients — will be available in December.
