SCM calls the Dazzle 6 in 1 the first device to accept six different types of media in a dual-slot design. The company said that the Dazzle 6 in 1 can read any flash media from any digital device, and can be upgraded to support future formats. The dual-slot design takes CompactFlash Type I and II, IBM Microdrive, SmartMedia, SD Card, MultiMediaCard and Sony Memory Stick.
The device’s two slots work concurrently, as well, which means that you can transfer data directly between the media. It can be used as a removable disk drive, according to SCM, with USB plug-and-play capability. It’s mass-storage compliant, requiring no additional software drivers to be installed. (The device comes with Dazzle OnDVD software, but it’s Windows-compatible only.)
The Dazzle 6 in 1 is expected to hit stores in November with a suggested retail price of US$69.99. Look for it at retailers including CompUSA, Best Buy, Fry’s, Micro Center, Office Depot, Staples and Sears.
