Phil Schiller, Apple’s vice president of Worldwide Product Marketing, has resigned from Internet service provider EarthLink’s board of directors to focus more attention on his duties at Apple, according to an EarthLink statement.
“EarthLink has greatly benefited from the important contributions made by Philip Schiller and his stewardship in guiding the company,” said Garry Betty, EarthLink’s chief executive officer.
Joining the board are Dr. Robert M. “Bob” Metcalfe, a venture partner with Polaris Venture Partners, and Marce Fuller, CEO of Mirant. At Polaris Venture Partners, Metcalfe specializes in Boston-area information technology start-ups. Mirant is a top five U.S. marketer of power and natural gas.
