CPLAT 3.0 — the latest version of the cross-platform framework for the Mac OS, Windows and Linux — is now available from ksoft. The newest version has been updated to work with Metrowerks Pro 7 and Mac OS X 10.1, including the new Project Builder with the 10.1 update.
Also, there are now trial versions available for Microsoft Visual C++, Project Builder, and Pro7, according to MacTech magazine. CPLAT is a cross-platform framework for development, not just a thin layer over the underlying operating system, according to the folks at ksoft. It includes a RADTool/resource editor for importing, creating and editing the resources your application uses including menus, icons, pictures, cursors, patterns, windows, alerts, dialogs and strings. You can create a single resource and generate the appropriate resource definition for any of the supported operating systems.
CPLAT costs US$50 and includes complete source code, headers and projects to the framework, demos and more. Updates are posted approximately every 4-8 weeks to registered users. Full details and the latest trial versions/demos can be found at the ksoft Web site.
