Developer Stephen Becker has released WebPrint Plus 5.0, the latest version of a Mac-only utility that offers customizable tools for gathering, saving, and printing information from just about anywhere, including the Internet and software you can’t usually print from.
In version 5.0, you can now choose which font to use when printing and select which point size to use when printing. WebPrint Plus remembers and displays the selected font and point size. You can now choose to have WebPrint Plus double space both printed and saved selections. The number of characters that fit on a line when double-spacing can now be set. Plus, you can select the sound WebPrint Plus uses for its alert sound, as well as the sound WebPrint Plus uses for its confirmation sound.
“WebPrint Plus works in most programs and is especially useful when dealing with the large amount of information that is available while working with AOL, Web browsers, and e-mail clients,” Becker said. “It lets you select and save, edit, index, or print just the part of the document that’s needed — anything from a single character to multiple pages may be selected. Even non-contiguous selections from within a document/Web page or across multiple sources or Web pages may be combined so they are conveniently grouped together.”
Additionally, WebPrint Plus provides users with other on-the-fly options to help organize and work with the collected data, such as time and date stamping it, annotating it, and indexing it, he added.
To use WebPrint Plus 5.0, you’ll need a Mac running Mac OS 7.5.3 or later (though it’s not been Carbonized for Mac OS X) and a 68020 or later processor. A free, fully functional 10-day demonstration version of WebPrint Plus 5.0 is available.
