Apple is expected to release a downloadable version of iDVD 2 in November, but the online Apple Store is now accepting pre-orders for the new version of the software.
iDVD 2 is the latest major release of Apple’s consumer-oriented DVD mastering software. When used in conjunction with a Power Mac G4 that features a built-in SuperDrive, iDVD users can burn DVD-R discs that can they be played back in regular DVD players.

The iDVD 2 upgrade kit is comprised of a DVD disc with all upgrade installers; the application with all new motion and audio themes, plus new tutorial sample files.
In addition to a SuperDrive-equipped Power Mac G4, iDVD 2 requires a minimum of 256MB RAM (384MB recommended), and it requires Mac OS X, version 10.1 or later.
Customers can order the US$19.95 iDVD 2 upgrade through the Apple Store and will also be able to download a PDF order form from Apple’s Web site.
