Xochi Media, which has been producing custom screensavers since 1993, has released iScreensaver Designer 2.0 for Mac and Windows.
The folks at Xochi tout iScreensaver Designer as “the world’s first and only cross-platform screensaver editor.” It will convert MPEG, MooV, AVI and Macromedia Flash files into a self-contained screensaver.
Version 2.0 boasts “content locking,” the ability to include a “deluxe” movie that’s hidden until users enter an unlocking code. iScreenSaver Design’s interactive movies can include interactive Flash or QuickTime movies that contain hotspots and buttons. A graphical screensaver control panel lets you preview Mac and Windows screensavers from the same program. Version 2.09 also lets you embed URL links and offers full branding for corporate or personal artwork, logo and text.
Xochie offers a variety of license options, from non-profit to full commercial use. The software is available as a fully functional, free trial download.
