Chirometrics, a human posture analysis application for the chiropractic profession, is now available in version 0.9.4 (yep, that’s the correct version number). It’s available for both the Mac and Windows platform and requires QuickTime to open image files.
Chirometrics is designed to accept standard front-on and side-on images of patients taken by a megapixel digital camera, according to Tony Barry of Sleeping Child Software, makers of the software. The user locates anatomical and reference landmarks on the images and the application calculates displacements and angles between body segments, and displacements and angles from a reference vertical center line.
The application produces a report, with lines and reference points superimposed on the images to illustrate the displacements and angles, Barry said. The images, point data and patient information can be saved to a database for future reference if desired.
Chirometrics was developed with REALbasic 3.5.2 Pro from Real Software.
