The Center for Continuing and Professional Studies at Pratt Institute in New York has announced what it calls “the first comprehensive training program” for Mac OS X. The all-day seminars are hosted at the Institute’s Manhattan location and is for advanced users and beginners alike.
The Institute offers each student their own computer and has separate programs which cover topics including OS X’s file system, the Quartz graphics layer, font management, the Classic environment, configuration, troubleshooting and customization of the user interface and the Dock. The instructors will also introduce users to UNIX and Darwin and compare OS X to OS 9.
The seminars will be held on Tuesday, November 13; Saturday, November 17; Tuesday, December 11; and Saturday, December 15, 2001; from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Pratt Manhattan, The Puck Building, 295 Lafayette Street at Houston. Tuition is $275, and there is a registration fee of $20.
