The Apple Store in Palo Alto will host a special User Group Night on Nov. 11 from 7-9 pm.
Open only to Macintosh User Group (MUG) members, their families and Apple Solution Experts, the event will celebrate the availability of the iPod. There will be special demonstrations of the iPod and Mac OS X by Apple product managers and special gifts for attendees, according to Chuck Joiner of The MUG Center, a resource for user groups.
Also, an iPod Sneak Preview, hosted by the Apple Student Core @ Emory & The Atlanta Macintosh Users Group, will be held on Nov. 8 at Emory University in Atlanta, GA. The event is open to the public and will feature the iPod product manager, Joiner said.
Want more? Okay. The Portland Macintosh User Group will host the third “You Don’t Know Mac!” statewide Macintosh Users Group celebration event and trivia contest on Nov. 17. Garr Reynolds, Apple Worldwide User Group Manager, will be the 2001 master of ceremonies. YDKM is a one-day event that combines a workshop, inter-MUG communication, resource sharing and links with Oregon and other major computer industry companies. It’s highlighted by a trivia contest.
Finally, Bob “Dr. Mac” Levitus will be the featured guest at The Houston Area Apple Users Group’s Dec. 8 meeting.
MUGs are good places for making new friends, finding Mac-loving buddies, boning up your technical expertise, finding solutions to technical problems, and sometimes finding a good deal on used hardware.
