A new beta of Empower Pro Phone (version 1.1b10), an Internet phone application, has been released.
“We plan to release the final version within the next couple of weeks,” Susan Fougerousse of Empower Pro told MacCentral. “Prior to the final release Empower Pro Phone can be pre-ordered for US$14.95, which is 50 percent off of the retail price.”
Empower Pro Phone lets you have real-time voice communication with any other Empower Pro Phone user — it’s a Mac only app. Empower Pro said that final releases of the product would support both Mac OS 9.x and Mac OS X.
Fougerousse said that the latest beta version offers a simplified Aqua user interface; improved sound quality with reduced latency; a preference window for settings application preferences; a Phone Book for keeping track of Favorites; Speech Recognition for voice control; enhanced error messages with recommended user action; and improved support for USB microphones on Mac OS X.
Empower Pro Phone 1.1b10 also retains window locations and tab settings and detects UDP network (and disables it if blocked by a firewall). You can specify a TCP Port for answering calls.
