Eridanus has updated Archer, its slide show player for Mac OS X, to version 2. The latest version contains commands for deleting a displayed image from the hard drive, removing the displayed image from the slide show and augmenting navigation commands for international users.
All commands carry on Archer’s mash-the-keyboard simplicity according to Mike Trivisonno of Eridanus. In addition to the single-keystroke commands, all new commands also have standard menu and command key equivalents, he added.
Archer is a small slide show player that supports audio and video as well as still images. Archer supports multiple players running at the same time each with their own set of images, speed setting and size. You can also append images to the slide show. When not in full-screen mode, a scroll bar is available to navigate through the images.
“Some people are even using Archer as a video jukebox simply by turning on the Random Playback option and importing a folder of video files,” Trivisonno said. “Resize the player, position it in the corner, hit the space bar and enjoy the show.”
Archer can be downloaded from the Eridanus Web site. And it’s free.
