The new Group Organizer from Chronos isn’t the only networkable PIM (personal information manager) available for Max OS X, according to Martin-Gilles Lavoie of Steltor, a company that specializes in time management communications technology.
Steltor makes CorporateTime 5.2 for Mac, a Carbonized product native to both Mac OS X and classic Mac OS (8.6 and up with the CarbonLib extensions installed).
“The Mac client is a critical component of our end-to-end time management communications portfolio for universities, corporations and ASPs,” said François Perrault, the company’s director of product management.
CorporateTime native client offers freedom of collaborative scheduling across entire organizations, enterprises and campuses, regardless of platform and operating system. Steltor’s client-of-choice philosophy extends beyond its Mac, Windows and UNIX native clients to include Web and wireless access, as well as full support for Microsoft Outlook, Perrault said.
In addition to native support for Mac OS X and a revamped look and feel, CorporateTime 5.2 for Mac boasts improved TCP/IP communication with both the native UNIX networking subsystem of OS X and the Open Transport network connection of previous operating systems. Further performance improvements were also realized through changes made to memory allocation management, Perrault said.
Version 5.2 also boasts an improved group view. You can now view the schedules of people and resources for which you do not have booking rights, as well as including or excluding group members from the combined view. You can take advantage of the expanded preference options to choose whether to display the intuitive in-tray or whether you prefer a less cluttered desktop. CorporateTime also has a boosted remote node performance that promises faster response for remote users.
