Vantage Learning, a company that develops online testing and assessment technology, announced today the release of VANGuard, a new online assessment platform that “assures test validity by restricting a student’s access to online and desktop information.”
Available for Mac and Windows, VANGuard provides complete control of the online test-taking environment, enabling access to only approved online and desktop resources appropriate to the test, according to Vantage’s COO Scott Elliot.
By using the technology, schools and administrators can disable a student’s access to any Web site, hot keys, menus and right-click mouse functions during the administration of an online assessment. VANGuard eliminates any possibility of students using computer-based outside information that could comprise the legitimacy of the assessment, assuring the validity of online testing, Elliott said.
