MIDIMAN subsidiary M-Audio has announced that the Delta RBUS digital audio card is now shipping. It’s a PCI expansion card that’s compatible with both the Mac and PC, and it’s designed to enable professional musicians and audio engineers with the ability to connect their systems to Roland R-BUS-compatible devices.
The Delta R-Bus features 24-bit 8-channel output that is used to transfer digital audio and MIDI control information to and from R-BUS equipped products. Such devices include Roland’s VM-7000 series, VM-3100Pro V-Mixers, VS-2480 24-track Digital Studio Workstation, VSR-880 Digital Studio Recorder and VX-5080 128-Voice Synthesizer/Sample Playback module.
In addition to the R-BUS standard, the new Delta R-BUS card supports S/PDIF (Sony/Philips Digital Interface) for digital transfers and mastering. It also features analog ins and outs for recording and monitoring, digital mixing, control over SCMS and more. You can install multiple R-BUS cards together, and the cards can also work together with other audio cards, including M-Audio’s Delta cards.
The card supports drivers including ASIO, EASI, GSIF, MME, Sound Manager and WDM.
The Delta R-BUS card carries a suggested retail price of US$349.95.
